| Abigail the Wise by Jeanetta Watkins We all run into "sticky situations" from time-to-time. The way we react can either make the problem worse or defuse a possible tragedy. We need to be very careful if we choose to intervene in the troubles of other people, however. Read Article An Example of Godliness By Loretta Spencer Upon becoming a child of God, we made a promise. That promise was to be His servant. Its okay to focus on the physical body, but our main goal should be focusing on our spiritual body (mind)... Read Article The Importance of a Mother by Jaz Gray In a time when young people are obsessing over the materialistic, disrespecting their elders, and increasingly violent to one another, people wonder what’s gone wrong. We want to know how we can make it better. Let me suggest a solution- The strong, influential... Read Article Footprints by Jeanetta Watkins To a trained eye, footprints (tracks) can reveal a lot of information. The most obvious is the kind of animal that make the tracks, but there's more to a print than meets the eye. This trained individual can tell us how long ago the track was made, whether the animal was walking or running, whether he had a limp or a scar on a foot. One good point about being able to recognize tracks is to tell whether they were left by a predator or some more docile creature. Read Article Account for the Life by Marilyn LaStrape I have heard many lessons and sermons and sat in numerous Bible classes, and I cannot remember ever hearing our ultimate answering to God put in those words. As I have thought about that over the past several weeks, it has caused me to look more closely at what God’s word has to say about us “accounting for the life”. | Let's Talk About God's Word This discussion blog is for all of us to learn from each other and to help each other. Just because people may have different views and make comments that seem to be conflicting, doesn’t mean that they are involved in something sinful. The Lord pronounced to Israel, “Come now, and let us reason together.” (Isaiah 1:!8) The Lord knew that there was no other way to be on the same page with His people without discussion. In the book of Acts, concerning the question of whether or not people had to be circumcised to be saved, the Bible says, “And when there had been much dispute.” (15:7) The disputing here does not mean arguing. It means discussion, mutual questioning or reasoning. And so, feel free to disagree but do so with respect, kindness and a disposition that would be characteristic of Christ. For those who think it does not matter about us being on one accord, listen to God’s wisdom, “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” (1 Corinthians 1:10) |
