Saved By Christ's Blood
by Tony Edwards

Without the shedding of Christ's blood on calvary's cross, His coming to this earth would have been
meaningless. The blood of Christ Jesus is the only thing that allows us to have our sins forgiven.
"According to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no
remission"
(Heb. 9:22).

Christ's blood is essential. It is the place of pardon for mankind. In the Old Testament, the place of pardon
was the mercy seat that was located on top of the ark of the covenant (Ex. 25:21-22; Lev. 16:13-15). In the
New Testament, Christ is our mercy seat. Paul declared,
"being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
whom God set forth as a propitiation (mercy seat) by His blood, through faith, to
demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over
the sins that were previously committed" (Rom. 3:24-25).

Anyone who wants salvation must be cleansed by Christ's blood. His blood is precious and has the ability
to clean because it is "as of a lamb without blemish and without spot" (1 Pe. 1:19).

Christ's blood is important in many ways:
We have forgiveness of sins by His blood. "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the
forgiveness of sins" (Eph. 1:7).
Our conscience is cleaned by His blood. "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the
eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the
living God?" (Heb. 9:14)
Christ purchased the church by His blood. "Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock,
among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased
with His own blood" (Acts 20:28).
The New Testament is dedicated with His blood. "For this is my blood of the new testament, which is
shed for many for the remission of sins" (Matt. 26:28).
Our Christian walk is kept clean by His blood. "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin" (1 Jo. 1:7).

Oh, how precious is our Lord's blood! Where would we be if God had not sent His Son? Where would we
be if Jesus had not bleed for us? I believe the answer is clear. Lost!

(Christ's blood alone doesn't save. You must hear THE GOSPEL)
